Silicon Manganese alloy is made of manganese, silicon, iron alloy, and a small amount of carbon and other elements. Silicon manganese alloy which has wide application and large output, is commonly used as compound deoxidizer. It is alsothe main material in the production ofl manganese metal with low carbon ferro manganese and silicon hot method.
Silico Manganese is used as a deoxidizer and an alloying element in steel.
The standard grade Ferro Silico Manganese contains 14 to 16% of silicon, 65 to 68% of manganese and 250% of carbon. Special grades with up to 30% Si are used in the manufacture of stainless steel.
Ferro Silico Manganese can be used as a substitute for Ferro Silicon and Ferro Manganese when added to make different types of steel.

How To Produce Silicon Manganese?
The production method of silicon manganese is mainly based on electric heating method, and raw materials need to be prepared before manufacturing.
Manganese ore is one of the most important raw materials for producing silicon manganese, in addition to semi coke and quartz stone, which are also important raw materials for silicon manganese.
The electric furnace is used to heat the raw materials to form the silicon manganese alloy solution.
The semi coke mainly plays a reducing role in the production process, reducing the manganese in the manganese ore and the silicon in the quartz stone, and generating a chemical reaction to form the silicon manganese solution, during the production period, the change of temperature and the time of discharging are strictly controlled, so as to improve the purity and quality of silicon manganese.

Silicon manganese is an alloy of Iron, Silicon & Manganese. It has higher Silicon content in comparison to Ferro Manganese.
Silicon reduces the solubility of carbon in manganese alloys, so carbon contents are inversely proportional to silicon content.
It is a more potent deoxidizer of steel compared to Ferro manganese.
Deoxidization with SiMn results in cleaner steel than using Ferro Silicon.
More than half of the Silico Manganese produced globally is produced in China.
